The COVID-19 Pandemic has become a global concern and has created panic amongst the people.
But, should we be panicking?
Not at all. Like many other pandemics such as SMALLPOX, POLIO, EBOLA, SARS-CoV-1 and
MERS, COVID-19 pandemic, too, is temporary and will disappear or be controlled in months, if not
In the trying times of COVID-19, most of public and private sectors are temporarily shut to break
the chain of spreading any further. And, all of us are maintaining SOCIAL DISTANCING as there
is no cure yet, to fight this invisible enemy. But it doesn’t mean that things are not going forward.

Our events and training services may have moved online, but all other Engineers Australia services
– including Chartered assessments – continue and our team remains on duty and contactable, even
if many of us are working remotely.
As the profession’s peak body, we have around 100,000 members, and we stand ready to harness
that network and our members’ expertise to help as the Australian community comes together to
face the challenges of coming months.
As the global spread of COVID-19 continues to evolve and we navigate through these uncertain

To provide our members with one less thing to worry about, and appreciate the need for support
and advice during these trying times, ACS has made the decision to practically support our
members by providing 6-month extensions to all members that were active financial as of 1 March
VETASSESS is operating as normal as possible during the coronavirus outbreak.
We have had to cancel offshore practical trade assessments for migration purposes, but we can
conduct Technical Interview assessments online.
All other skills assessments for migration purposes are continuing as normal but we are
experiencing delays in our ability to process some applications. We continue to give this matter
priority and thank you for understanding.
VETASSESS’ operations are continuing as normal and our staff are working remotely.
Our team members are committed to maintaining our high level of service and we are still accepting
and processing applications.
